Putin also expressed his support for the Tajik leadership. Both leaders agreed to hold a separate meeting during the upcoming Collective Security Treaty Organization summit in Dushanbe to be held on September 15th.

Over 30 police officers and nine rebels were killed in Tajikistan early on Friday in attacks by a terrorist group on the outskirts of the capital city of Dushanbe and in the town of Vahdat. Rahmon said the attacks were carried out by Islamic State militants.
