(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Trong Dam said Vietnam has promulgated many policies and strategies to mitigate natural disasters and climate change, and help children and their families in emergencies.

At a workshop jointly held by the Ministry and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Hanoi on Tuesday on the prevention of child labor following natural disasters or in response to climate change, Mr. Dam said social organizations and authorities at all levels need to join hands to protect children. He asked sectors to prepare strategies and plans to evacuate people from disaster areas and provide needed assistance to children following a natural disaster.
