(VOVworld) - Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh says the most important tasks for Ho Chi Minh City and the country are to control inflation, stabilize the macro-economy, and ensure social welfare. Ninh made the statement at yesterday’s working session with Ho Chi Minh City authorities to promote production and trading activities. He said the tasks should be linked with restructuring the national economy and key industries to create a foundation for Vietnam’s sustainable growth. Ninh said economic performance in the first quarter proved that the Government management is on the right track, with signs of stability in the marco-economy, interest rates, and foreign exchange rates, and credit growth under control. Ninh says 'We should be consistent in following the set targets and thoroughly consider applicable solutions. Inflation is under control but remains vigilant. We should harmonize inflation control toward stabilizing the macro-economy and maintaining an appropriate growth level. Flexible management can resolve production difficulties'.
