(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on behalf of the Vietnamese Government on Friday thanked the Romanian Government for donating 100,800 doses of Astra Zeneca vaccine to Vietnam.

At a reception in Hanoi on Friday, he told Romanian Ambassador Cristina Romila that he believes the timely and valuable support that Romania gives Vietnam will certainly make a practical contribution to Vietnam's fight against COVID-19.

Prime Minister Chinh congratulated the Romanian Ambassador for presenting her credentials to the President on June 16. He said Vietnam attaches great importance to the traditional friendly relationship with Romania and appreciates the positive developments in the two countries' relations in recent years.

The Prime Minister asked Ambassador Romila to coordinate with Vietnamese and Romanian ministries and sectors to work to strengthen the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially economics, trade, investment, education, training, and labor cooperation.

The Romanian Ambassador affirmed that she will make every effort to consolidate the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Romania.
