Prime Minister Dung said that Vietnamese government will continue to improve its investment environment and create the best possible conditions for foreign investors, including Taiwanese enterprises. Regarding recent disruptions to foreign enterprises in Vietnam, Dung said China’s illegal deployment of its oil rig Haiyang 981 in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone resulted in spontaneous rallies in some localities and destruction of private property at Taiwanese businesses. Vietnam has taken steps to help affected enterprises return to normal operation.

Representatives of the Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce praised Prime Minister Dung’s efforts to restore order, guarantee safety, and help Taiwanese enterprises stabilize their production. They said they will continue to expand their investment and implement projects in Vietnam.
