This year’s event is of great significance as both China and ASEAN celebrate 10 years of their strategic cooperation partnership. As many as 3,400 stands have been erected to showcase the achievements in investment cooperation, science and technology, trade and services. An area has been reserved to introduce typical cities of China and ASEAN member states, including Vietnam’s Qui Nhon city. More than 100 Vietnamese businesses are displaying their products on 200 stands at the expo. They will have the chance to meet approximately 50,000 entrepreneurs from China and other ASEAN member states to discuss the possibility of signing contracts and establishing partnerships.

CABIS is a high-level forum for dialogue between ASEAN and China to strengthen their strategic partnership, promote the establishment of an ASEAN - China free trade area and deepen regional economic and trade cooperation, especially in the context of the global economic difficulties.

A Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam often attended the expo and summit, and this is the fourth time PM Nguyen Tan Dung has attended the event.

Dung’s attendance demonstrates Vietnam’s participation in activities within the framework of the 10th ASEAN-China partnership celebration, as well as its support to the expo and summit. It is expected to help Vietnamese businesses introduce their potential and seek opportunities for expanding operations and increasing trade and investment cooperation with those from China and other ASEAN countries. PM Dung is scheduled to meet with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to discuss issues of mutual concern. He will also meet with leaders of several Chinese localities and leading economic groups participating in the event.
