Prime Minister clarifies safe adaptation to pandemic with Can Tho voters

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday met with voters of Mekong Delta city of Can Tho via teleconference, which connected the Government Office with 74 communes, wards and townships, 9 districts and headquarters of Can Tho City Party Committee.

At the meeting, voters praised the recent achievements in the pandemic prevention and control, and voiced their determination to continue to well implement the directions and guidelines on pandemic combat and social economic development. They proposed many issues including increasing vaccine distribution, easing traffic restrictions, the continuation of social welfare policies as well as investment in infrastructure and investment attraction to create jobs for local workers.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the voters’ response to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and maintaining socio-economic development. He said the Party and State have been focusing on vaccines, striving to vaccinate all priority groups by the end of this year, emphasizing that the most important task is to protect the people's health, while recovering and developing the economy and ensuring social security.

Prime Minister Chinh explained safe adaptation, flexible and efficient control of COVID-19, focusing on healthcare, economy, scientific data, technology, political social order, vaccination and public awareness. He set out six principles: Health is the pillar; economy is the foundation; science - technology data is key; socio-political stability is important and permanent; vaccines, medicines and people's awareness are prerequisites; and safety for production, production must be safe.
