(VOVworld) – Construction of the 7th Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) began in Nghe An province on Wednesday.
In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that the Park, once operational, would contribute to the socio-economic development of Nghe An and the north central region.
The project would benefit the two governments and their enterprises while helping cement the strategic partnership and agreement to connect the two economies.

Earlier, Prime Minister Dung received Singapore Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang. He said that Vietnam would create the best possible conditions for foreign investors including those from Singapore to do business in Vietnam. Singapore’s minister pledged to make the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park a success, contributing to relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung worked with leaders from Nghe An province the same day to discuss its plans for development towards 2020. He asked the province to make greater efforts to fulfill this year’s target and formulate plans for the next 5 years. He said that priority should be given to agricultural restructuring and new rural development, improving the quality of services, reducing poverty, and ensuring national security, defense, and social order. Prime Minister Dung also burned incense in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at the Kim Lien historical relic site in Nam Dan district.
