(VOVworld)- On the sidelines of the UN Summit in New York, President Truong Tan Sang on Saturday held bilateral meetings with the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Mozambique and the Swedish Prime Minister.

(VOVworld)- On the sidelines of the UN Summit in New York, President Truong Tan Sang on Saturday held bilateral meetings with the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Mozambique and the Swedish Prime Minister.

At a meeting with Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President Sang urged the two countries to increase business delegation exchanges, promote trade and investment in garment, textile, industrial products, fisheries, seedlings, livestock production, oil and gas, and construction. President Sang proposed Turkmenistan sent its Ambassador to Vietnam and invited Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to visit Vietnam. The two leaders agreed to work closely to contribute to peace, international security and settling disputes and conflicts through peaceful means and with respect to international law.

At a meeting with Mozambique’s President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, the Vietnamese President called on the two countries to expand bilateral cooperation. President invited President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi to visit Vietnam. President Filipe Jacinto Nyuis praised Vietnam’s projects in his country and promised to create favorable conditions for Vietnam-Mozambique joint-venture projects. They agreed to enhance cooperation in bilateral forums for the sake of developing countries.

On the same day, President Truong Tan Sang met with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven. He urged Sweden to sign and approve the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement. He expressed his hope that Sweden and the EC would soon recognize Vietnam’s market economy status. Sang said Vietnam is ready to help Sweden the EU to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN. Sang urged the Swedish Prime Minister to support ASEAN and Vietnam in settling disputes through peaceful means with respect to international law and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. President Sang invited Prime Minister Stefan Lofven to visit Vietnam and convey his invitation to visit Vietnam to the Swedish King Gustav XVI. The Swedish Prime Minister invited President Truong Tan Sang to visit Sweden and agreed to accelerate the signing and approval of the EU- Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
