At his summit with the Gulf Cooperation Council, President Trump said normalizing relations with Syria would start with a meeting with Syria’s interim president.
According to a White House statement, Mr. Trump urged Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharaa to “sign onto the Abraham Accords with Israel” and “assume responsibility for ISIS detention centers in northeast Syria.”
