(VOVWORLD) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a State visit to Vietnam from June 19 to June 20. This is President Putin’s first visit to Vietnam since he was re-elected Russian President for the 2024-2030 tenure in March.

In an interview with VOV reporter, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi said President Putin’s visit to Vietnam will open a new chapter in the traditional friendship between the two countries.

He said: "The relationship between Vietnam and Russia has a long history of development, but the two countries still have potential to further bilateral ties. I do hope that during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit, the leaders of the two countries will increase exchanges and promote measures to strengthen relations in trade and investment, meeting the needs and expectations of leaders, businesses and peoples of the two countries. Throughout the history of bilateral ties, people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in science, technology, education and training have always been emphasized".

Ambassador Khoi expressed his hope that on the foundation of the sound relations between the two countries, President Putin’s visit to Vietnam will bring about new momentum for the stronger and more effective cooperation between the two countries, heading to a brighter future.
