In his letter of commendation, President Phuc said he was moved and thanked Lieutenant Thai Ngo Hieu of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Dong Nai province. Hieu with the brave spirit of a fireman tried his best and rescued four young people from drowning at Phuoc Tinh beach, Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, on Sunday.

President Phuc also expressed his emotion at Mr. Nguyen Duc Chinh, residing at Street 8, Thinh Long town, Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province. Chinh jumped from 30m high Thinh Long bridge into the Ninh Co river to save an 8th grade girl who was drifted by the strong water current. She was brought to shore safely on Saturday afternoon.

The President said these brave actions have been admired and respected by the people and examples of saving people’s lives need to be promptly spread so that more people will believe more in the good things of our life.
