The annual event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, honors the good traditional cultural values of all ethnic groups in the unified yet diverse culture of the community of 54 ethnic groups. This year's Spring Festival involves 300 participants from 28 ethnic communities across Vietnam.

Addressing the festival, President Thuong said the unique and rich cultural treasure of 54 ethnic groups is the pride, the valuable asset of the nation, and the source of endogenous strength, forging the great unity of the entire nation, a force that attracts world friends and a soft power that contributes to raising the country's profile in the international arena.

The Party and State are always keen on building a great national unity bloc on the basis of good implementation of ethnic policies, consistently following the principle of equality, solidarity, respect, help for each other, and preservation of cultural identities of each ethnic group and each member of the great family of Vietnamese ethnic groups, he said.

“Culture is the spiritual foundation of society, a pillar in sustainable development, asserting its greater role and achieving more important results. The material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improved. The role of people in creating, practicing, transmitting and enjoying culture is respected while more and more community participation in culture are seen."

"To make culture to truly be an endogenous resource and a strong driving force for national sustainable development, prosperity and happiness, we must continue to preserve and foster good cultural values, bring culture deeply into social life, consolidate or create a healthy and progressive spiritual foundation, and contribute to building modern Vietnamese people rich in identities,” according to President Thuong.

This year's Spring Festival is held in two days and includes a singing program celebrating the Party's glory, the country's spring, and the tree-planting campaign.

There will be folk games, traditional Tet cuisines, and three festivals of Rice Sowing of B'ru Van Kieu people, Nang Hai Festival of the Tay and New Year Dance Festival-Rija Nagar of the Cham people.
