During the visit, Mr. Candinas held talks with NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, paid a courtesy visit to President Vo Van Thuong, and met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

During the meetings, Vietnamese leaders praised President of the National Council of Switzerland Martin Candinas’s official visit to Vietnam which they said reflected Switzerland’s respect for bilateral ties and the fine cooperation between the two legislatures.

Mr. Candinas pledged to work closely with Vietnam to boost bilateral ties adding that in its external relation policy Switzerland considers Vietnam a strategic partner in Southeast Asia.
