(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang visited the Vietnamese embassy and held talks with embassy staff and former Cuban experts in Vietnam as part of his official visit to Cuba on Wednesday.
President Sang said Vietnam valued Cuba’s support for the two countries’ fraternity and comprehensive cooperation over the last 5 decades. He added that Vietnam will forever be a sincere and loyal friend to Cuba: “What we have achieved in the two countries’ relations can be attributed to the efforts of our people, Parties, and states. Vietnam will never forget the saying of the Cuban leader Fidel Castro: “For Vietnam, Cuba is ready to give its own blood”.
President Sang said that the normalization of Cuban-US relations has been the result of Cuba’s steady struggle over the last 50 years and that Cuba will continue to achieve new victories on its development path. President Sang said that Vietnam was ready to share its experience with Cuba in updating its economic model.
The Vietnamese President also visited the Vo Thi Thang and Nguyen Van Troi Elementary Schools, which are named after 2 Vietnamese heroes.
