President Joe Biden arrives in Hanoi for a State visit to Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -  US President Joe Biden arrived in Hanoi on Sunday afternoon, beginning a State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong.

Welcoming President Biden at the Noi Bai international airport were Member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc, Chairman of the Hanoi municipal People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung, and Director the State Reception Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Viet Dung.

US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper and staff of the US Embassy in Hanoi were at the airport to welcome President Joe Biden and the high-ranking delegation of the US. 
President Biden is accompanied by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer, and Deputy Assistant to the President and Coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs on the National Security Council Kurt Campell,  among others.
President Biden's visit to Vietnam marks a decade since the two countries established their Comprehensive Partnership.
The outstanding outcomes of the Vietnam-US bilateral relationship over the past nearly three decades provide the basis to affirm that the State visit of President Biden to Vietnam will be another significant milestone in the two countries’ joint journey for peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development for the region and the world.
