NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong and leaders of ministries and sectors attended the session. According to the Government’s report, over the past years, many policies and programs have been implemented to support ethnic minority people which helps improve their material and spiritual lives, reduce poverty and reinforce their trust to the Party and State’s leadership. But those policies have not covered all fields and areas. The participants asked the NA’s Ethnic Council to resolve the remaining shortcomings in the policy implementation. Regarding public health and population quality, Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien affirmed that from now till 2020, the Ministry will work out and implement a project to improve population quality and health of ethnic minority people and upgrade health care facilities in remote areas: "We’re working out a rural health care program attached to new rural development program in which we will build more clinics in disadvantaged areas in 63 poor districts. Secondly, we will cooperate with military doctors in the areas. We have made proposal to the Government about rotating medical staff to these areas within 6 months to 1 year".
