At the meeting, the Prime Minister suggested that Vinh Long make the most of its distinct potentials, outstanding opportunities and competitive advantages for development. It’s necessary to focus on harmonious development of economy, culture-society and environmental protection in association with national defense and security, PM Chinh said. He ruled out sacrificing progress, social justice, and the environment in exchange for mere economic growth.

The Prime Minister emphasized that as a land of "human genius", Vinh Long needs to strongly promote its revolutionary history, culture, and spirit of self-reliance and solidarity to rise up strongly.

Before the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the construction site of My Thuan 2 bridge connecting Vinh Long and Tien Giang provinces. He gave gifts to workers at the construction site.

He surveyed the area where Dinh Khao bridge connecting the two provinces of Vinh Long and Ben Tre will be built and surveyed Mang Thit ceramic brick village, My Phuoc commune, Mang Thit district.
