(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Thursday called for mechanisms and policies strong enough to help major Vietnamese companies join global supply chains and grow into multinational corporations. He was chairing a meeting with the Policy Advisory Council in Hanoi to review the draft National Assembly resolution on private economic development.

PM Chinh said the upcoming resolution institutionalizes the Politburo’s Resolution 68 to support the rapid, sustainable growth of the private sector.

He said policies should act as both leverage and foundation, encouraging confidence, self-reliance, and a strong drive for progress. They should also encourage better use of resources, more innovation, and stronger production and business activity to fuel growth, expand the economy, and create jobs, according to the PM.

“We must carefully review policies to encourage business freedom, foster healthy competition among enterprises, and ensure equal access to capital, land, and public assets. Efforts should be made to ensure property rights and promote public-private partnership,” the PM said.
