During the visit from August 31 to September 1, the Vietnamese PM addressed the expanded summit session themed “Implementing multilateralism, ensuring regional security, and promoting sustainable development" and met with leaders of Laos, Russia, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, Malaysia, India, Armenia, Pakistan, Nepal, the UN, ASEAN, and SCO.

In China, he met with Chinese Party leader and President Xi Jinping, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning, and leading Chinese corporations in infrastructure, finance, and electric vehicles.

According to Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu, the two sides agreed to further deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, enhance political trust, expand cooperation in defense, diplomacy, economy, and strengthen connectivity in infrastructure, science, and energy, including building three new northern railway lines.

The two sides agreed to better manage and resolve differences, respect legitimate interests in line with international law, and work with ASEAN to finalize an effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea.

Mr. Vu said: “The important outcomes of the China trip of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation were the transformation of high-level consensus of the leaders of the two Parties and the two countries into concrete projects that will bring tangible benefits to the peoples and businesses of both countries, contributing to a more stable, substantive, Vietnam–China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and to peace, stability and development cooperation in the region and the world.”
