PM receives US-ASEAN Business Council delegation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam always treasures comprehensive partnership with the US and welcomes the US’s support for a powerful, independent and prosperous Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said during a reception for Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) Michael Michalak and a delegation of the council's businesses.

PM Chinh said that the US is one of Vietnam’s leading trade partners. Two-way trade topped 105 billion USD in the past 11 months, up 18% year on year.

He asked the USABC to support Vietnam in education-training, governance experience, and invest more in hi-tech, digital and green transformation, climate change response, aviation and cyber security. 

Michalak, who is also former US Ambassador to Vietnam, said Vietnam is effectively drawing new capital inflows and potentially benefits from the shifting of global supply chains.
