(VOVworld)- On the sidelines of 27
th ASEAN Summit and related meetings in Malaysia, the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung held a meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Sunday. Prime Minister Dung highlighted the outcomes of bilateral cooperation since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1955. President Joko Widodo reiterated Indonesia’s consistent policy of promoting cooperation and friendship with Vietnam. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and dialogues on politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, national defense and maritime. Dung asked the Indonesian government to address problems relating to Vietnamese fishermen and vessels under the humane spirit. The two leaders stressed the importance of maintaining peace and in the East Sea, respecting principles of international law, abiding by the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea and adopting the Code of Conduct in the East Sea.

At a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull on Saturday, Prime Minister Dung said Australia is one of Vietnam’s leading trade and investment partners. He proposed Australia facilitate Vietnamese agricultural and fisheries products to penetrate into the Australian market. The Australian Prime Minister said he hoped Vietnamese mangoes and dragon fruits will be present in Australia by the end of this year. Both sides expressed concern about the situation in the East Sea and emphasized the need to respect international law, not use to threat to use force, and not pursue militarization in in the East Sea.

At a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev the same day, Prime Minister Dung urged Russia, as a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, to soon adopt and urged other members to realize the free trade agreement. The two Prime Ministers agreed to assign relevant agencies to accelerate the implementation of projects on nuclear power, oil and gas and automobile assembling. The Russian Prime Minister stressed the need to abide by international law including the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea to settle disputes in the East Sea.

Meeting US President Barak Obama on Saturday, Prime Minister Dung said Vietnam wanted to strengthen the comprehensive partnership with the US. The Vietnamese Prime Minister asked the US to contribute further to ensuring peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the East Sea. President Obama said the US and Vietnam needed to work closely to approve and implement the TPP. He said the US supported Vietnam’s stance in dealing with the East Sea issue adding that Vietnam and other ASEAN countries need to strengthen coordination in addressing the disputes through peaceful means. On the occasion, PM Nguyen Tan Dung invited President Barak Obama to visit Vietnam and the US President accepted the invitation.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Thai counterpart Parayut Chan O Cha discussed bilateral cooperation, especially in labor and fishing on the sidelines of the 27th ASEAN Summit and related meetings in Malaysia. Dung asked Thailand to facilitate Vietnamese workers and allow them to continue their jobs in Thailand. The Vietnamese Prime Minister proposed the two countries' Foreign Ministries to discuss cooperation in fishing.
