PM Pham Minh Chinh speaks at a national conference on social housing development, March 16, 2024. |
Chairing Saturday’s national online conference on social housing development, Mr. Chinh reiterated that the Government has always paid attention to meeting the housing demand of the people, especially low-income earners and workers in industrial zones.
Social housing development has seen progress but has not yet met the target, the PM said, calling on Party Committees, administrations, people, and businesses to work together, and “put themselves in the shoes of those who do not have a house.”
He noted that social housing projects must ensure construction quality, environmental sanitation, as well as medical, educational, and social infrastructure, and other services.
It’s crucial to secure equal access to housing and leave no one behind, said PM Chinh. He emphasized that Vietnam plans to build 130,000 social houses this year and specific tasks have been assigned to ministries and sectors to fulfill this goal.
