The trip until March 11 will be made at the invitation of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.

The two-day special summit focuses on four key areas: business, emerging leaders, climate and clean energy, and maritime cooperation. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visits to Australia and New Zealand will help create a strong momentum to deepen Vietnam’s Strategic Partnership with Australia and New Zealand.

Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet said that the Prime Minister’s trip is significant as this is a good opportunity for senior leaders of the ASEAN and Australia to comprehensively evaluate the relationship between the two sides over the past 50 years. It is also an opportunity for leaders to exchange and set out visions, directions and specific measures to expand future cooperation.

From a bilateral perspective, the Prime Minister's visit to Australia is an opportunity for the two countries to jointly evaluate the developments in bilateral relationship, especially in implementing their Strategic Partnership.

During PM Chinh’s visit to New Zealand, the two countries will discuss measures to further bilateral cooperation, including cooperation in trade and investment.
