The key national project has a turbine design capacity of 2,400 megawatt and could generate more than 10 billion kilowatt hours annually. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung called for a safe and efficient operation of the power plant by the Electric of Vietnam and local engineers. He instructed the provinces of Son La, Dien Bien and Lai Chau to continue economic development and job creation programs for resettlers.
