Mr. Phuc made the statement while receiving the General Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, Vong Pisen, who is on an official visit to Việt Nam from Monday to Wednesday.
The PM suggested that the Cambodian Ministry of Defense continue to co-ordinate with the Vietnamese side in searching for the remains of Vietnamese martyrs and Vietnamese specialists who died in Cambodia. Mr. Phuc asked the Cambodian Government to create favorable conditions for border guard forces and border localities to carry out cooperation programs and encourage people in border areas to strictly abide by border regulations for a shared border of peace, stability, and development.
The two countries are preparing for the 40th anniversary of their joint victory over the brutal Khmer Rouge regime. The PM proposed that Cambodian authorities and the Cambodian Royal Army closely co-ordinate with the Vietnamese side in organizing activities to commemorate the event.
