(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged localities to swiftly restore essential infrastructure such as electricity, clean water, transportation, and telecommunications; continue reviewing and mobilizing all possible resources to supply food to affected households and relocate residents to safe areas; and immediately resolve issues related to schools and healthcare while quickly restoring livelihoods.

The PM was speaking at an online conference on addressing the aftermath of recent natural disasters, restoring production and business activities, and stabilizing people’s lives in the central region.

He also requested banks, credit institutions, and insurance agencies to promptly implement support measures for residents and enterprises to recover production and business activities, including debt rescheduling and relief.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to urgently review and allocate the 2025 reserve budget, and to submit support proposals to the Government no later than 12 p.m. on November 14.

Preliminary reports show that recent natural disasters from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai have caused severe damage. 90 people were dead or missing, 273 injured;  1,900 houses collapsed, and 227,000 houses damaged or unroofed. Total losses exceed 1.15 billion USD, affecting an estimated 0.2–0.4% of GDP growth.
