At a reception for visiting Japanese Finance Minister Kato Katsunobu in Hanoi on Wednesday, Prime Minister Chinh also called on Japan to continue its cooperation with Vietnam in technology transfer, the building and improvement of institutions, human resource training, and governance capacity.

He suggested promoting investment and trade cooperation, exchanging products with strengths of both sides; cooperation between localities; cooperation in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation; and exploitation of underground space, sea space, and outer space.

Minister Kato said he will actively support and promote win-win cooperation in areas of mutual interest to both sides, especially what was mentioned by the Prime Minister. Japan is reviewing favorable policies for foreigners, of whom Vietnamese people account for about one fourth and have made positive contributions to Japan, he said.
