PM asks Siemens to transfer technology, boost innovation in Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Germany’s Siemens company transfer technology and boost innovation in Vietnam as he met Roland Busch, President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens, in Hanoi on Monday.

PM Chinh called for Siemens support in training high-quality human resources, finance, transfer of management science, and fine-tuning institutions in accordance with global development trends and Vietnam's situation.

Appreciating Germany's leading role and position in Europe and the world, Prime Minister Chinh said Vietnam always attaches importance to deepening relations with Germany in all fields.

The Prime Minister said he hopes that Siemens will transfer renewable energy technology to Vietnam, develop production and expand the electric car market, cooperate and support Vietnam in digital transformation. He expected that Siemens will build a Research and Development Center in Vietnam.

Roland Busch said that Siemens is Germany's leading tech company, which focuses on industry, infrastructure, transportation and healthcare. Establishing a representative office in Vietnam since 1993, Siemens has now cooperated effectively with Vietnam in many fields, especially renewable energy and transportation.

Busch said Siemens wishes to expand cooperation, investment and business in Vietnam, especially in digital transformation, green transformation, electric car production, infrastructure for national database centers, and urban and high-speed railways.

Siemens will continue to help Vietnam in human resource training and support Vietnamese businesses to reach out to the world, he added.
