(VOVworld)-Inefficient projects, control over wastefulness in public investment and the appointment of officials will top the agenda of the National Assembly’s Q&A session starting on Tuesday. Over two and a half days, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and four Ministers will take the stage to address voters’ concerns, which also include education and training reforms and other issues. Nguyen Van Chien, a deputy from Hanoi said: “Voters have expressed their particular interest in economic restructuring and the environment. We are looking forward to satisfactory answers and solutions from cabinet members”. Tran Van Mao, a deputy from the central province of Nghe An noted that he will continue to question until getting agreeable answers. “I’m especially interested in state management, public debt, administrative reform and scattered investment. If we are not happy with the answers from any Ministers, we’ll definitely question the Prime Minister”.

For the first time in a National Assembly Q&A session, lawmakers can request an on-the-spot debate with a cabinet member. Deputy Truong Minh Hoang representing the southern province of Ca Mau comments: “The new rule will make the Q&A session more effective as deputies can push Ministers to the end of the issues of concern. I hope it will help produce good solutions”.

Cabinet members participating in the question session include the Ministers of Industry and Trade; National Resources and the Environment; Education and Training; and Home Affairs.
