The island covers a natural area of 18km2, with a population of around 32,000 people. It lies 56 nautical miles (around 120km) southeast of Phan Thiet port and holds strategic significance in the East Sea.
Its strength lies in key marine economic sectors such as offshore fishing, aquaculture, and seafood export, which not only generate high added value but also create stable jobs and drive structural shifts in the local labor market.
Tourism is considered Phu Quy’s second spearhead economic sector. The island boasts a rich marine ecosystem, pristine landscapes, beaches, coral reefs, and vibrant local culture, making it a hotspot for domestic and international tourists.
