Selib told President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who was visiting New York-based Pfizer Inc., one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporations, that his company always has a good cooperative relationship with Vietnam.

Pfizer welcomes the establishment of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Southeast Asia Regional Office in Hanoi, on the occasion of the visit by Vice President Kamala Harris, which demonstrates a belief in Vietnam’s capacity in disease prevention and control, he said. Pfizer and the CDC will closely work with Vietnam in pandemic prevention and control, he added.

President Phuc said he is impressed by Pfizer's active role in COVID-19 prevention and control, particularly the successful development of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which he said is recognized worldwide as a highly effective "weapon" to control the pandemic.
