In his address at a celebration of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20) and the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the education sector in Hanoi, the President pointed out that over the past 80 years since the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, education has stood side by side the people, the nation and the country's history.
From the early days of the nation's founding, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed that "fighting hunger, illiteracy and foreign invaders" are the three key tasks of the Government and the people.

President Cuong asked the education sector to more thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines, policies and viewpoints, Ho Chi Minh's thought and most recently the Politburo’s Resolution 71 on breakthroughs in education and training development.
“Effectively implement the Law on Teachers, make appropriate policies to attract talents to educational institutions. Persistently build school culture, quality culture, practical learning coupled with the exemplary responsibility of the teaching staff. Strengthen comprehensive education of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, and aesthetics, forming a system of values for Vietnamese people in the new era. The most important is moral education, cultivating people must start with personality, then education about knowledge and skills,” the President requested.
It is necessary to clearly define the roles, responsibilities and coordination mechanisms between families, schools and society in educating ethics, personality and the standard value system of Vietnamese people, he said.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded flags and certificates of merit to groups and individuals for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning" from 2020 to 2025.
