This is the first visit to Finland by a General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973.
The visit is an opportunity for the two countries to review cooperation achievements and set out major orientations to bring the traditional friendship and all-round cooperation to new heights, said Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang.
“In addition to enhancing political trust, it will expand cooperation in many fields, especially in the digital economy, green economy, circular economy, and maritime economy, science and technology, renewable energy, and high-tech agriculture,” she added.
Party leader Lam's visit will enable Vietnam to ramp up its cooperation with the Nordic region and promote its role in bridging Finland and the European Union with ASEAN.
