(VOVworld)- On Monday, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong received in Hanoi visiting New Zealand Prime Minister John Key. New Zealand’s Prime Minister briefed the Vietnamese Party leader on the outcome of his talks with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Mr. Key praised Vietnam’s role in the region and said New Zealand wanted to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Vietnam. Prime Minister Key stressed the importance of mutual support at international forums and the UN.
Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong reiterated Vietnam’s foreign policy of strengthening cooperation with traditional friends including New Zealand. Trong said he hoped the two countries would further bilateral ties to realize their 2013-2016 Action Program which aims to deepen the Comprehensive Partnership toward a Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
