(VOVworld) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Friday attended a business forum in Mumbai as part of his ongoing state visit to India.
He said that Vietnam and India should make full use of their great potential and opportunity for economic and trade cooperation. The Party leader said that Vietnam welcomes, encourages and creates the best possible conditions for foreign investors in Vietnam and that Vietnam is willing to help Indian businesses enter ASEAN.
Representatives of Indian chambers of commerce and industry and businesses expressed their hope to cooperate with Vietnam in the areas of oil and gas, steel, thermal power, IT, sugar, food processing, infrastructure building, and personnel training. They suggested that Vietnam consider granting longer visas, opening direct flight routes with India, and facilitating Indian investors to do business in Vietnam.
