(VOVWORLD) - A ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Monday to present China's Friendship Order to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping said the Friendship Order is a recognition of the Chinese Party, State and people for Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Vietnamese people for their contributions to developing bilateral relations as well as orienting and promoting the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era.

Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said: “I believe that this noble award is a great encouragement for us to continue to develop the Vietnam-China relationship. I will also try my best in my position, together with the leadership of the Party, the State, and the entire Vietnamese people, to build a more prosperous, powerful, and civilized Vietnam and together with the Chinese people to form a unified and sustainable block.”

Before that Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping witnessed the signing of 13 documents by departments, ministries, branches, central and local authorities.

The signed documents include:

1.Cooperation agreement between the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and the CPC Central Committee’s International Liaison Commission

2.Memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs and the CPC Central Committee’s Political and Legal Affairs Commission

3.Memorandum of understanding on cooperation for 2022-2027 between the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

4.Memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the ministries of justice

5.Memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Hanoi and Beijing

6.Memorandum of understanding between the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on strengthening joint works to ensure the supply chain

7.Memorandum of understanding between the customs bodies of Vietnam and China on building priority areas for collaboration

8.Memorandum of understanding between the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment on bilateral cooperation in ecology and environment

9.Memorandum of understanding on food safety in bilateral trade between the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Chinese General Administration of Customs

10.Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in trade and economy between the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Government of China’s Yunnan province

11.Cultural and tourism cooperation plan between the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism for 2023-2027

12.Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening exchanges and cooperation in state-owned assets and state-owned enterprises between the Vietnamese Committee for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises and the Chinese Committee for Management and Supervision of State Assets

13.Protocol on phytosanitary requirements for fresh bananas exported from Vietnam to China between the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Chinese General Administration of Customs
