(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met Chairman of the Communist Party USA John Bachtell and left-wingers in Washington DC on Friday. John Bachtell congratulated the Communist Party and people of Vietnam on their socio-economic achievements over the past 30 years, and expressed his proud of the traditional solidarity between the two Communist parties, saying that the Communist Party USA will do its utmost to forge Vietnam-US relations. Party leader Trong congratulated the success of the 30th Congress of the Communist Party USA, saying he believed that the Party will constantly try its best to fulfill its responsibility as a political mainstay of the US working people. He thanked the US communists for their support to Vietnam’s past liberation as well as the current national construction and development, adding that Vietnam closely follows the developments of the Communist Party USA.

The US left-wingers in New York welcomed Mr. Trong’s “historical” official visit to the US. They congratulated achievements made by the Vietnamese Party and people over the past time, noting that they are a vivid demonstration for the success of the Communist party with sound guideline and firm political spirit. They confirmed the US left-wingers’ support to Vietnam. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong thanked the US friends for their assistance to Vietnam in the cause of national liberation, construction and defense. He hailed the US left-wingers’ practical deeds in supporting the Vietnamese Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin victims and addressing the post-war consequences, adding the development in the Vietnam-US relations is significantly contributed by US friends.
