Emphasizing that 2025 is an important year for the nation, with the beginning of a new era – the era of national rise - General Secretary Lam said that the top priority for the coming period is to achieve the strategic goals set for 2030, with Vietnam becoming a developing country with modern industry and upper middle income. By 2045, the country aims to be a developed and high-income nation.

The Party leader said: "The first priority is to focus on streamlining the political system toward to make it refined, effective and efficient. This requires strict mechanisms for monitoring and controlling power to prevent abuse. We also need to ensure strong reforms in financial, banking, and monetary systems, alongside perfecting the legal framework to ensure transparency, fairness, and the elimination of existing shortcomings. It’s also important to build a dynamic and effective administration and a safe, transparent, low-cost business environment to promote entrepreneurship."
The Party leader expressed his hope that intellectuals and scientists will fulfill their responsibilities and missions in this new revolutionary period, joining hands with the Party, people, and armed forces in successfully achieving the country's strategic goals.
He called on intellectuals to support the training, development, and guidance of future generations to help them become a strong driving force in building and protecting the nation while shaping humanity's future and serving as a bridge connecting Vietnamese and foreign intellectuals inside and outside the country.
