President Lukashenko said that the two leaders decided to upgrade the relationship between the two countries to a strategic partnership. He called this a logical step based on the cooperation and sincere friendship of Vietnam and Belarus.
The two sides will strengthen cooperation in education and training, science and technology and agree to ramp up cooperation between their localities because there is still ample room for development.

General Secretary Lam affirmed the enhanced effectiveness of existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms and suggested establishing new mechanisms between ministries, sectors and localities to soon concretize the documents signed within the framework of this visit.
“The two sides will strengthen the role and effectiveness of the Vietnam-Belarus Intergovernmental Committee on economic-trade and scientific-technical cooperation. Continue to effectively implement and maximize the advantages of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), creating favorable conditions for investors of the two countries to access and expand business in each other's territories.”
“Boost effective and comprehensive cooperation in new areas of mutual interest. Efforts should be made to strengthen cooperation within the framework of international conferences and multilateral forums, especially the United Nations, EAEU and other frameworks. Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge to promote cooperation between ASEAN and Belarus,” Mr. Lam said.
