The Committee will review the implementation of the resolution on promoting Vietnamese culture and national identity, draft documents submitted to the 12th Party Congress, votes of confidence in line with the Party Central Committee’s resolution on Party building, and some other important content.

Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong discussed the implementation of the Resolution on promoting Vietnamese culture and national identity. “We have to discuss and acknowledge the achieved results and point out any shortcomings and pending issues to be resolved. It’s important to assess cultural backwardness, moral depravity, social problems, and unhealthy lifestyles. The Party Central Committee has to consider issuing a new resolution on cultural and human development to meet the requirements for rapid and sustainable growth in the new era.”

Trong said that the Party’s 12th Congress, an important national political event, will be held in early 2016. Delegates are urged to spend a lot of time examining the agenda, and any draft political and socio-economic reports to be submitted to the upcoming National Party Congress.

Mr. Trong asked participants to discuss opinions on Party building. He stressed that the most fundamental principle in Party election rules was that every Party member must abide by the Party regulations, follow the Party’s principle of centralized democracy and help to make the Communist Party of Vietnam a well-organized and unified organization.

Trong talked about the vote of confidence in senior officials of Party committees, State agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and other political and social organizations. “The Committee has to analyze what has been done and what needs to be adjusted and revised, and to make recommendations on vote time, procedures, form, and making the results public. Based on the Party Central Committee’s proposal, the Politburo will organize the revision of regulation 165 for conducting vote of confidence in the future.”

The 9th session of the 11th Party Central Committee will last until May 14.
