The Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip marked on Tuesday the 45th anniversary of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories since Arab-Israeli war in 1967, and insisted on establishing their independent Palestinian state. Palestinians named the anniversary “al-Naksa” and marked it with rallies and demonstrations in the West Bank, Eastern Jerusalem which has been conquered by Israeli, but considered by the Palestinians as the capital of their future state. The Palestinians called for immediate international intervention to end the military occupation of their territories. Middle East peace process has been stalled since October 2010 due to the disputes over the Jewish settlement construction on the occupied Palestinian territories

On the same day, Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas stated again that Israel blocks the two-state solution and called on the United Nations to accept Palestine’s membership. At the World Economic Forum in Istanbul, Turkey, President Abbas called on the Israel government to respect the agreements and principles of the two-state solution.
