The Committee led by former leader of Fatah movement Azzam al-Ahmad will organize the negotiations for a week. Hanna Amireh, a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Steering Committee, said apart from negotiating with Hamas and other Muslim militant groups, the Committee will collect ideas from other independent factions in Palestine. He also stressed if the negotiations with Hamas fail, a new unity government is likely to be formed without the group’s participation. Amired added Palestinian President Mamouh Abbas will decide who will lead the new government, but no one has been selected so far.
