(VOVworld) - Overseas Vietnamese across the globe have launched various activities celebrating the success of the 12th National Party Congress and welcoming the upcoming Tet.


The Vietnam Embassy in Laos held a banquet in Vientiane to welcome the events. Ambassador Nguyen Manh Hung described 2016 is an important year for both Vietnam and Laos as members of the ASEAN community, and Laos takes over the ASEAN presidency. He expressed his belief that with the two countries’ special solidarity and strong determination, Vietnam and Laos will further reap more success in 2016. The Vietnam Embassy in Egypt also held a ceremony to mark the successful 12th National Party Congress and welcome the upcoming Tet. Vietnam’s Consulate in Houston, Texas, opened a banquet for the local overseas Vietnamese and international friends to welcome the lunar New Year of 2016.
