The ceremony was attended by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife.

The delegation also released carps into Lotus lake in the citadel. The carp release is part of the Kitchen God farewell ritual observed by Vietnamese people on the 23rd day of the last lunar month, which falls on January 14 this year.

Earlier the same day, the delegation visited President HCM’s Mausoleum and laid a wreath at the Monument dedicated to war martyrs in Hanoi.
