Ambassador Nguyen Van Tho briefed them on the development of Vietnam-China relations last year and plans for the coming years. He acknowledged the contributions of the Vietnamese community in China to the embassy’s activities and Vietnam’s development. Ambassador Tho said:

“Overseas Vietnamese in recent years have contributed an important part to Vietnam’s major achievements. They have helped people at home to overcome difficulties. The Vietnamese party and state always care about their lives and speak highly of their contributions to the homeland.”

A similar celebration has been held by the Vietnamese embassy in Israel. Ambassador Ta Duy Chinh reviewed recent developments in relations and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in economics, trade, science and technology, and personnel training. The ambassador expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in Israel will remain united to support one another, preserve Vietnam’s cultural identity, and foster the friendship between Vietnam and Israel.

The Vietnamese Students’ Association in Lyon, France has held a get-together with the purpose of creating a Tet atmosphere for young Vietnamese who are away from home during Tet.
