(VOVworld)-Nguyen Dac Vinh, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee today/ on Friday held an online dialogue with Youth Union members and others  on the Government Web Portal.

The talk focused on issues important to Youth Union members, including Youth Month 2013, youth and new rural development, youth involved in activities to develop the economy and building the Youth Union organization overseas…One hot topic was Youth Month activities. Asked about the role of Youth Union members, Vinh said: “One of the most important tasks of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union members is to be pioneers  involved in socio-economic development activities closely linked to the national political mission. The mission of socio-economic development is an overall mission which has been pursued energetically  by the Government. Over the past year, Youth Union members have participated actively in socio-economic development  which have brilliant results.  The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has clarified its role and its tasks and received greater support from the Government. One example is the new rural development program which is being carried out nation wide.”

Overseas students who have been outstanding in community service and Youth movements  in their host countries were honored by the Youth Union. Pham  Phuong Chi, Head of the Youth Union’s International Relations Department, said: “ We pay special attention to inviting outstanding overseas  youth to participate in social activates  in Vietnam and join summer camps for overseas youngsters. These activities will give them a  chance to meet and create bond with local young people in Vietnam.”

At the online dialogue, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union answered questions from Youth Union members, students and from different universities and colleges nationwide and VietNamese overseas students.
