(VOVworld)- North Korea agreed Sunday to South Korea’s proposal to hold talks this Thursday on reuniting families separated by the Korean war of 1950-1953. North Korea also proposed to conduct negotiations on Thursday to resume tours of Kumgang Mountain. South Korea had suggested holding talks reuniting families this Friday at the truce village Panmunjeom. In an announcement on South Korea’s Independence Day August 15, President Park Geun-hye called on the North to hold a reunion next month for separated families. Park applauded the recent agreement to reopen the joint industrial zone at Kaesong and said that that this event opens a “new inter-Korea relationship” after months of crisis.
