(VOVworld) – North Korea on Friday rejected South Korea’s proposal to hold talks on normalizing activities at the Kaesong industrial park, a symbol of reconciliation and economic cooperation between the two Koreas. A spokesperson for the North’s National Defense Commission said Pyongyang will take tough and resolute measures if Seoul continues to worsen the situation. He added that South Korea could withdraw its workers from Kaesong and provide them with humanitarian aid if the country worries about their safety.

Earlier, South Korea’s Unification Ministry proposed to hold talks with North Korea about the future of Kaesong and requested an immediate answer from the latter.
