Information Minister Lai Mohammed said police and security officials have been deployed to other schools in the state.

Last Monday, many school girls fled their school when armed insurgents attacked the town. In a statement on Friday, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari described the incident as a "national disaster," saying "the entire country stands as one with the girls' families." President Buhari apologized to the girls' families, and committed to rescue the missing girls.
